Just as in 2022, this year too Graz Airport is auctioning old equipment, vehicles and a wide variety of other articles so they can be recycled.

Feldkirchen bei Graz, 04.09.2024: A tow tug, sweeper machine, cars and a passenger stairway, as well as baggage carts, fuel pumps, office furniture and much more are available in the auction, which starts immediately and runs until 11:00 on Tuesday 17.09.2024.

“As far as new acquisitions are concerned, we have acted very prudently for years at Graz Airport, for reasons of cost and the environment”, state Wolfgang Grimus and Jürgen Löschnig, the Managing Directors of Graz Airport. “But it can become necessary to purchase new equipment due to new safety regulations, switching vehicles to electric drives, changes to the framework conditions, or the financial cost or time required for maintenance. Recycling is a question of attitude, which we embody as well as we can, and is why we decided to hold an auction again.”

A wide range of vehicles and articles are being offered. The vehicles include among others a tow tug, a passenger stairway, a snow blower and a Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicle, which was used as the operations director’s car. Various items of equipment are also available, such as metal detectors, filling-station fuel pumps, decelerometers, roller conveyors, high-pressure cleaners or multi-gas detectors. But the auction also includes a table, two hospital beds, baggage trolleys, computer accessories, office furniture, workbenches, passenger guidance systems, and much more.

Surplex, a German company with a branch in Austria, was commissioned to carry out the auction. The objects to be auctioned have been posted on the website www.surplex.at. The auction will finish at 11:00 on 17 September 2024.

The vehicles and equipment can be inspected on-site on Monday 09.09.2024 from 10:00 to 15:00 after prior notification to info.austria@surplex.com.
