Feldkirchen bei Graz, 29.03.2023: Eurowings now flies from Graz to Berlin 5 times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, and from the beginning of May also on Thursdays. The flight time to the German federal capital is just 1 hour 15 minutes.
“We are delighted to be flying directly from Graz to Berlin for the first time”, says Eurowings CEO Jens Bischof. “With the new route we are connecting Styria to the federal German capital region more closely than before. At the same time, many travellers from Berlin and Brandenburg can now discover southern Austria much more easily. The same applies to the Hamburg metropolitan region: the new connection between Graz and the Hanseatic city is starting on 5 May, with 4 weekly flight rotations. Together with Graz Airport we are delighted at the successful expansion of our route network.”

“The launch of the Berlin connection is the prelude to an extensive expansion of Eurowings flights at Graz Airport this year”, explains Wolfgang Grimus, Managing Director of Graz Airport. “The beginning of May will see the opening of the 11th Eurowings base and the start of the connection to Hamburg, and then the gradual startup of many holiday flights. With the acquisition of the Berlin flights we are again connected to one of the most important cities in Europe. Berlin is both an important destination for the Styrian economy and industry, and an extremely attractive city-break destination for private travellers. At the same time we also expect this direct flight to bring many tourists and business travellers to Styria from Berlin/Brandenburg and the adjoining federal states.”
CEO Wolfgang Malik, Holding Graz: “Our flight connections to Germany are highly volatile on the basis of a variety of developments. However as the representative of the owners I can look optimistically to the future, not least thanks to the new Eurowings base in Graz and the associated additional new connections. As the largest regional airport in the Alps-Adriatic region, with Berlin our airport in Graz will in future offer an expanded selection of popular connections in Europe, and the forthcoming new Hamburg connection will bring the north of Germany closer to Styria as an attractive destination for business and tourism. I am confident that with its multifunctionality Graz Airport will soon once again join the top tier as a regional airport with many international connections”.

The flights to Palma de Mallorca are being increased to 3 flights a week, and from 14 May will be offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
